William Russo

William Charles Russo, 71, of Ocean View, died Dec. 22, 2020, at Kona Community Hospital. Born May 21, 1949, Glenwood Springs, Colorado, he was a U.S. Army veteran and disabled retiree.

Services were held.

He is survived by sister, Lorraine Howlett of Seattle.; stepmother, Rose Russo of Chula Vista, CA; stepsister, Denise Nichols of Nashville, Tennessee.

Antonio Cosma

Antonio Bruce Cosma, 84, of Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 4, 2021, at Kona Community Hospital. Born June 9, 1936, in Hana, Maui, he was a journeyman carpenter who worked for Hicks Homes Builders and Cliff Pouton Builders, a construction worker for Glover Construction Co. and Hawaii Dredging Construction Co., and owner of Cosma’s Carpentry Services.

Services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by wife, Carilynne Cosma of Kailua-Kona; sons, Anthony (Denise) Cosma of Kalaoa, and Harry (Doreen) Kapea of Dallas; daughters, Pixie (Melvin) Flores and Tracey Cosma-Carvalho, all of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Marion (Nancy) Cosma of Lahaina, Maui and Francis (Ella) Cosma of Wailuku, Maui; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Yoshiyuki Kaneko

Yoshiyuki Kaneko, 88, of Kealakekua, died Dec. 17, 2020. Born in Honalo, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a retired teacher at Konawaena High and Intermediate schools and member of HSTA-R, Bank Kumiai and Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.

Private services. The family requests no koden (monetary contributions).

He is survived by wife, Emiko Kaneko of Kealakekua; son, Steven (Tiffany) Kaneko of Honalo; daughter, Lani (Spencer) Kimura of Hawaii Kai, Oahu; brother, Herbert (Vivian) Kaneko of Pearl City, Oahu; sisters, Kimiko Sato of San Carlos, California, and Asako Kajioka of Pearl City, Oahu; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eduardo Espejo Jr.

Eduardo Espejo Jr., 73, of Hilo, died Dec. 30, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Sept. 5, 1947, in Pahala, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for Hamakua Sugar Plantation and worked at Ka‘u Sugar Plantation.

Private viewing Jan. 16. Services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by children, Eddie Espejo of Puna, Edra (Chris) Powell of Wyoming, Ryan (Brittany) Tripple Kanealii of Kona, Michele Kanealii of Wisconsin and Justin (Chiara) Espejo of Oregon; ten grandchildren; mother, Matilda Espejo of Pahala; brothers, Glenn (Theresa) Espejo and Darren Espejo of Washington, Noel (Jessica) Espejo of Ocean View, Wade (Priscilla) Espejo of Naalehu, Ricky Espejo of Pahala and Darcy (Deborah) Espejo of Kanehoe, Oahu; sisters, Roslyn Miller and Laurie Sand of Washington, Wendy (Mac) Davis of Naalehu, Carlyn Grahn of Seattle, Washington, Terrie (Calvin) Louis of Pahala and Brenda (Joe) Brodt of New York; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
