Michael Rapoza

Michael Ritchey Rapoza, 75, of Captain Cook, died Jan. 20, 2021, in Ewa Beach, Oahu. Born in Hawaii, he was a retired probation officer.

He is survived by brother, Willard Rapoza, and niece Maile Ann Rapoza.

Richard Mitchell

Richard John Mitchell, 91 of Hilo, died on Jan. 20, 2021, at Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Turano, Canada, he was a retired office worker for Triple A.

He is survived by his spouse, Norma Mitchell of Keaau, and daughter, Debbie Mitchell.

Josephine Naungayan

Josephine Kuulei Naungayan, 87, of Kapaau, died Jan. 18, 2021, at her residence. Born March 18, 1933, in Kohala, she was a retired nursery worker for a foliage and plants nursery and a member of the Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kohala.

Services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by children, Patrick (Rachel) Black Santiago of Kailua-Kona, Paul Santiago of Las Vegas, Priscilla (Douglas) Atkins, Peter (Eva) Naungayan and Patti (Timothy) Stivers of Kohala, and Pauline Naungayan of Honokaa; brother, Louis (Phyllis) Malasig of Las Vegas; sister, Priscilla (Alan) Kaaekuahiwi of Waimea; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Stephen Young

Stephen Kaipo Young, 61, of Waimea, died Jan. 8, 2021, in Waimea. Born April 15, 1959, in Honolulu, he was a security guard at the resorts.

He is survived by son, Adam Young of St. Helens, Oregon; mother, Ernestine Young of Honolulu and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
