The Big Island reported six new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the island’s total case tally to 2,134.
The new Big Island cases were among 115 new cases reported across the state by the Department of Health. Oahu reported 76 new cases while Maui County reported 23 and Kauai none. Six residents were diagnosed while outside the state.
The Big Island on Friday had a 0.8% test positivity rate, below the statewide rate of 2.5%.
Statewide, to date, there have been 25,656 people who have tested positive for COVID-19.
Statewide, 83 people were hospitalized Friday, including two on the Big Island. To date, 2,064 people have required hospitalization, including 112 on the Big Island.
One new coronavirus-related death was reported Friday on Oahu by the state. Of the 407 coronavirus-related deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 325 were on Oahu, 25 were on Maui, 53 were on the Big Island and one on Kauai. Three deaths were among residents outside the state.
The Big Island’s COVID-19 fatality rate remained at 2.5% on Friday, above the statewide rate of 1.6%.
