Carl Boege

Carl “Bud” Robin Boege, 59, of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 29, 2020, at Kona Community Hospital. Born April 24, 1961, in Portland, OR, he was a wood artist, former prep cook, martial artist and laborer.

Private services.

He is survived by companion, Valerie DeMello of Waimea; nephews, Braeden Boege, Michael Boege both of Oklahoma.

Benjamin Davidson

Benjamin Craig Davidson, 41 of Hilo, died Dec. 18, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Coos Bay, OR, he worked for the Spotlight Maintenance, and was a member of the 808 Bangahz.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Haili Tent in Panaewa for a drive-through service.

He is survived by his spouse, Jade Navor; father, Michael (Patricia) Davidson; mother, Cynthia (John Brown) Carr; sons, Jayben Navor and Jonah Navor Davidson; daughter, Jaylee-Ann Davidson; sisters, Jenny Davidson, Sarah Davidson and Kimberly Brookins; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Frances Tarallo

Frances Akiona Cahill Tarallo, 93, of Kailua-Kona, and also of San Bruno, CA, died Jan. 25, 2021, in Ocean View. Born March 24, 1927, in Honolulu, she was a retired Department of Defense contract specialist.

She is survived by daughter, Healani Cahill, of Ocean View; son, David (Sonia) Cahill, of Kailua-Kona; sister, Eloise Williams of Honolulu; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephew,

Shiro Takata

Shiro Takata, 91, of Hawi, died Jan. 12, 2021, at his residence. Born Aug. 30, 1929, in North Kohala, he was the owner of Takata Store in Kohala and founded the Kohala Community Athletic Association.

Private service planned.

He is survived by companion, Felisa Rosario of Hawi; sons, Rayton (Helen) Takata of Waimea and Jerry (Kim) Takata of Kohala; sisters, Harriett Yoshimitsu of Pearl City, Oahu and Janice Onaka of Kona; two grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
