The Big Island reported seven new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the island’s total case tally to 2,169.
The new Big Island cases were among 90 new cases reported across the state by the Department of Health. Oahu reported 57 new cases while Maui County reported 20 and Kauai one. Five residents were diagnosed while outside the state.
The Big Island on Monday had a 1% test positivity rate, below the statewide rate of 2.1%.
Statewide, to date, there have been 25,943 people who have tested positive for COVID-19.
Statewide, 75 people were hospitalized Monday, including two on the Big Island. To date, 2,067 people have required hospitalization, including 112 on the Big Island.
No new coronavirus-related deaths were reported Monday by the state. Of the 410 coronavirus-related deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 327 were on Oahu, 26 were on Maui, 53 were on the Big Island and one on Kauai. Three deaths were among residents outside the state.
The Big Island’s COVID-19 fatality rate remained at 2.4% on Monday, above the statewide rate of 1.6%.
