Cecilia Ogata

Cecilia “Cissy” Baji Ogata, 88, of Hilo, died Jan. 31, 2021, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born June 18, 1932, in Honokaa, she was a retired cook for the former Ichiban Café in Hilo.

Private services held. The family requests condolences be sent c/o Wallace Ogata, PO Box 136, Hilo, HI 96721.

She is survived by sons, Wallace Ogata and Glen (Angela) Ogata of Hilo; daughter, Debbie Ogata of Hilo; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mamerto Daquioag

Mamerto “Roman” Daquioag, 68, of Papaikou, died Jan. 22, 2021, at his residence. Born July 7, 1952, in Solsona, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was self-employed papaya farmer.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Feb. 22 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10:30 a.m. service. Burial at noon at Alae Cemetery (New Section).

He is survived by wife, Narcisa Daquioag of Kailua-Kona; children, Nerisa Daquioag, Sheena Daquioag and Donna Daquioag of Hawaii; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Petronio (Nancy) Daquioag of Keaau; sisters, Esperanza Daquioag of Keaau and Erlinda (Vicente) Razalan of Philippines; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces and nephews.

Brian Muraoka

Brian Isao Muraoka, 66, of Hilo, died Feb. 2, 2021, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired president and general manager for Hawaii County Employees Federal Credit Union.

Private services will be held at a later date. The family requests no koden (monetary contributions) or flowers.

He is survived by wife, Arlis Muraoka of Hilo; brother, Royd (Clara) Muraoka of Whittier, California; a niece, a nephew, and a grandnephew; aunt, Patricia Abe; and uncle, Haruo Takahashi.

Susan Herlihy

Susan “Suzie” Lynn Herlihy, 75, of Waimea, died Feb. 17, 2021, at her residence. Born March 8, 1945, in Rockville Centre, New York, she was a retired secretary.

No services planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to North Hawaii Hospice, 65-1328 Kawaihae Road, Kamuela, HI 96743.

She is survived by children, Lynn (Jon) Gorin, Rick Herlihy, all of New York, Kerri Herlihy of New Mexico; sister, Gail (Tim) Sullivan of Waimea; a granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eric D’almeida

Eric Paul D’almeida, 60, of Hilo, died Feb. 6, 2021, at his residence. He was born in 1960.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Feb. 19 at Homelani Memorial Park for a graveside service.

He is survived by brother, Rex (Gloria) Matthews; sisters, Sheila Matthews, Coleen Matthews and Charlene (Shane) Matthews; half-brother, Steven Akau; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lawrence Alexander

Lawrence (Larry) Alexander, 92, of Hilo, died on Feb. 11, 2021, at Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Los Angeles, he was a retired Hilo High School teacher, sailor, and a builder/operator of the Dolphin Bay Hotel in Hilo.

Services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by son, John Alexander of Hilo.

Lorna Worswick

Lorna Mary Worswick, 94, of Pahoa, died Feb. 11, 2021, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Sheridan, Wyoming, she was a property manager and retired real estate broker, member of the Hilo Seventh Day Adventist Church, VFW Ladies Auxilary and a square dancer.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Feb. 19 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Pavilion for a service.

She is survived by daughters, Patricia (Glenn) Sunada of Salem, Ore., and Lydia Worswick, of Pahoa; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Reginald Rabon

Reginald King Rabon, 56 of Hilo, died Jan. 26, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in San Antonio, Texas, he was a street philosopher.

He is survived by partner, Shannon Morton; daughter, Laila Scott; brother, Autry Rabon II, sister, Veronica Dangerfield Rabon; and numerous aunts and cousins.
