Michael Luther

Michael Lewis Luther, 59, of Pahoa, died Feb. 12, 2021, in Hilo. He was born in Newport Beach, CA, in 1961.

Friends may call at 11 a.m. Feb. 27 at Kalapana Mauna Kea First Hawaiian Church for a noon fellowship.

He is survived by son, Adam Luther of California; sister, Patricia Henn of Hawaii; one granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.

Henry Danford

Henry “Dan” Granville Danford, 83, of Glenwood, died on Feb. 17, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired farmer.

Services will be held at a later date

He is survived by friend and ex-wife, Emily Danford; son, Randy Barnigan; daughters, Alyson Danford of Wailuku, and Jennifer Dayton and Emily DeCosta, both of Puna; step-daughter, Elaine San Jose of Hilo; sisters, Mayvin Sinclair and Ellen Kelly, both of Oregon; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins.

Mabel Andrews

Mabel Kalahoano Andrews, 69, of Hilo, died Jan. 27, 2021 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born Sept. 7, 1951, in Hilo, she was a legal secretary for the Law Offices of Valta A. Cook in Hilo.

Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. March 6 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 10 a.m. service. Cremation will follow. Video streaming at www.oneroomstreaming.com, event ID: dodomortuary, password: TLBVRD.

She is survived by husband, Joseph Andrews of Hilo; son, Benjamin (Catherine) Urbanozo Jr. of Hilo; brothers, William (Laura) Keliipaakaua of Utah, James (Cherrylyn) Keliipaakaua of Honolulu, Wilfred Cabatic of Washington State and Frank Cabatic and Marvin (Stella) Cabatic of Hilo; five grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Gabriel Adviento Sr.

Gabriel Adviento Sr., 85 of Hilo, died Feb. 13, 2021, at his residence. Born in Waimanalo, Oahu, he was a retired glazier for Fuller Glass on Oahu, and a security guard at Bank of Hawaii in Hilo.

He is survived by sons, Gabriel (Napua) Adviento Jr., James Kelekolio and Anthony Adviento; daughters, Gail (Ronald) Kuali’i, Myrna Aiona, Mary (Lorenzo) Ramos and Gina (Keane) Lee; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
