Composer, producer, songwriter, and Grammy Award-winning musician Charles Michael Brotman will perform with special guests Charlie Recaido and Karl Kasberg at Kahilu Theatre livestreaming on Kahilu TV this afternoon.

The 4 p.m. performance will be followed with a talkstory with the three artists.

Brotman is a Grammy-winning artist whose music is heard worldwide via film, TV, advertising, and streaming. Brotman taught classical guitar for nine years at his alma mater, the University of Hawaii at Manoa where he earned a master’s degree in music. He is a cofounder of the recording label Palm Records and also the president of the Hawaii Songwriting Festival. His first two solo albums received critical acclaim, and he is known as a staple of the Hawaiian music scene.

Recaido is a founding member of the acoustic guitar trio Kohala and has written and co-written many of Kohala’s songs. In his early days, he performed and toured with the group Summer and was in the center of the Hawaiian Renaissance of music in the 1970s, performing in Honolulu hot spots such as the Toppa da Shop and touring with and opening for Kalapana.

Kasberg is a multi-talented piano, organ, and synth player. He has been performing in local clubs and resorts for over 20 years and is also a composer and producer.
