UPDATE: Big Island police report that Shayne Kamuela Unea of Hilo, who was wanted for five outstanding warrants, was located and taken into custody in Hilo.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance with locating a 38-year-old Hilo man who has five outstanding warrants for his arrest for bail jumping and criminal contempt of court.

Shayne Kamuela Unea is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 200 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes, according to the Hawaii Police Department. He has distinctive tattoos on his face, including the word “Waimea-43” which spans from his right ear to his right eye, a tattoo of music notes below his right ear, as well as a treble clef and another large tattoo on his throat.

Unea is known to frequent several places in South Kohala, Hamakua and Hilo and is known to drive several different vehicles, including a white Honda Accord and a white Toyota 4Runner, both with unknown license plates.

Police are cautioning the public to not approach Unea and to immediately contact police through the department’s nonemergency number at (808) 935-3311.
