Get out and help those less fortunate

Mr. Masters tells us on Tuesday that he doesn’t need his coronavirus relief check because he didn’t lose his job. I say lucky for you, but many people did. Especially those in our service industry and tourism-related jobs.

If you don’t need the money then open your heart and wallet and give that money to the food bank to help the many families who do need it . For many of our residents to put food on their table they have to wait in long lines at the different food distribution areas so their kids can eat. Don’t just bemoan these so called “excessive funds” along with your favorite Republican senators, get out and help those less fortunate and hungry in your community.

I wonder if you were as fast and vocal to bemoan the Trump tax brakes that only benefited the 1% and the big corporations, so they could turn around and use those funds to buy back their stock or those mega rich so they could buy a yacht. A wise man once said “freely you have been given, freely you should give.”

Another cowardly act

It is easier to steal from the government than to cheat a casino. Brave people try to cheat casinos. Cowards rob the government.

If Hawaii’s legislators allow casinos into our state, they will be cheating the people. This is another cowardly act — an inside job.

Start supporting the facts

Another right-wing blast on President Joe Biden from WHT in Tuesday’s opinion column by Michael Gerson of the Washington Post. Where were your columns on Trump giving $2 trillion to the top 1%? Biden is showing a stronghand while getting no support from Republicans. A 100% no vote from the right, but some top right leaders are taking credit for the distribution. Typical right-wing non support … the right have promised to block any and all motions from the left to correct the un-democratic administration by Trump. Now, Trump is taking credit for the distribution and the development of the vaccine and broadcasting that Biden should thank him. For what? Blocking development of vaccine, but taking credit when private companies developed, without any help from trump vaccines and had to develop distribution to states because trump publicly washed his hands of the matter because it was too hard?

We need to stop the misinformation and start supporting the facts.
