Hiroko Nagata
Hiroko “Sally” Gusukuma Nagata, 93, of Hilo died March 21, 2021, in Hilo. Born in Ninole, she was a retired secretary for the former Food Fair Supermarket and a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Hilo Okinawan Cultural Club.
Private services held. Family requests no flowers and no koden (monetary gifts).
She is survived by brother, Masanobu (Yoshiko) Gusukuma of Oahu; sisters, Toshiko Uchima and Yasu Sugiyama, both of Laupahoehoe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Royden Okunami
Royden Mitsuto Okunami, 86, of Hilo, died April 5, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 3, 1934, in Kohala, he was a retired insurance agent for Prudential Insurance of America, member of the Kaumana Terrace Kumiai, Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Hilo Hoyukai, Hawaii AJA Memorial Baseball League and involved with the Hilo High School Athletics Program.

He is survived by wife, Sue Okunami of Hilo; sons, Scott (Kathy) Okunami of Irvine, CA and Peter (Rae Ann) Okunami of Mililani, Oahu; daughter, Roanne (Clint) Hinahara of Aiea, Oahu; brother, Gary (Mitsuko) Okunami of Sacramento, CA; five grandchildren; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Morris Ota
Morris Keiichi Ota, 89, of Holualoa, died March 27, 2021, at his residence. Born May 25, 1931, in North Kona, he was an engineer with the Department of Land and Natural Resources and member of Daifukuji Soto Mission, Mixed Bowling League team and was a coach in the Kona Lions Club basketball league.
Services will be held at a later date. Family requests no flowers and no koden (monetary gifts).
He is survived by companion, Judy De Mello of Holualoa; sisters, Doris (Raymond) Yanagi and Sandra Ota, both of Holualoa, and Winifred Yamagata of Kealakekua; brothers, Leonard Ota of Lakewood and Vernon Ota of Kaneohe, Oahu; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

An obituary published Thursday for Elvira Evalani Publico, 70, of Hilo, who died March 22, 2021, inadvertently due to information provided by the mortuary, omitted she was also employed as a clerk at the County of Hawaii Department of Motor Vehicles. It is the policy of West Hawaii Today to correct promptly errors brought to the attention of the newspaper.
