Hawaii County residents whose driver’s license expired on or after March 16, 2020, will have until June 8 to renew them.

The extension comes as the Vehicle Registration and Licensing Division works to make up for the 30,000-plus renewals that were affected by COVID-19 in 2020. Licenses may be renewed by appointment only, and residents must apply online at hawaiicounty.gov/renewal.

The extension is part of Mayor Mitch Roth’s seventh supplementary emergency proclamation signed Monday and Gov. David Ige’s 19th emergency proclamation signed Friday, which extend all previous policies and procedures related to COVID-19.
