School is for educating children, not childcare
I know parents have grown to depend on schools to provide a safe place for their children to be during the day. School is for educating children, not providing childcare. Schools have taken on additional responsibility for before- and after-school care, and I know the parents appreciate it.
Let’s never lose sight of what schools are really for when we ask them to do more and more often with less and less.

Hawaii should lift COVID-19 restrictions
Gov. David Ige’s first emergency proclamation was in place to keep our hospitals from being overrun. That has never happened or been in danger of happening, but no one talks about that.
Our God-given immune system that has fought viruses for thousands of years, has been forgotten and completely ignored. The news and radio have rarely mentioned ways to boost your immune system. Instead, they focus on fear which has turned people’s love for each other into compliance, with mandates that go against human nature. Those that go mask-less are seen as dangerous instead of what they truly are, which is a stand for freedom and our keiki’s future.
Does it feel right to put a mask on your God-given nose and mouth that expel both carbon dioxide and bacteria keeping you healthy? Wearing a mask often gives people headaches, light-headedness, nasal issues, and throat issues. Why have people forgotten about God and the miracle that is their body? God wouldn’t mask you.
Twenty-one states have lifted COVID-19 restrictions, that’s nearly half the country. Hawaii should be among them, instead we are being threatened with a vaccine passport. The vaccine has only been approved for “emergency” use, which means it is experimental and we do not know the long-term effects. Why has a manmade substance been made more important than our God-given immune system?
Hawaii is the state of aloha. The phrase “alo” means face to face and “ha” means breath. People are masking their breath and not able to see each other’s faces and walking around like this is normal. It is not.

Again, we have a private business that’s selling a “never seen before offer”of rare coins for a price of $500-plus dollars a roll that “might” contain a rare coin worth up to $1,000, but more than likely not. The claim from a “retired” bank executive that he has never seen the coins from the 1800s is silly. Finding silver dollars in your change was common in Las Vegas as late as the 1960s that were minted in the late 1800s. That is how I got my collection. If you wanted one of the “rare” ones, you can find them on eBay for less than “collectors” value. Right now, depending on quality, you can get 1800 silver dollars for $29-49. The reason you never have seen this offer from a real bank is because it is a private sales institution. Even the community coin collectors organization doesn’t recognize this as a legitimate bank. Real banks have rolls of silver dollars at face value if requested, and some have 1800s coins since they are not sorted before rolling. There will always be people who are looking for a “pot of gold” and are too lazy to research actual sources.
