Hisae Kano

Hisae Kano, 90, of Hilo, died April 22, 2021 at Life Care Center. Born in Kona, she was a seamstress at Hilo Hatties, and a member of Honpa Hongwangi.

Private service to be held. No flowers, no koden.

She is survived by her brother Henry (Lavonne) Kuga; sisters Helen (Walter) Narahara and Emelia (Jim) Halling. As well as numerous cousins and grandnephews.

Roberta Kyle

Roberta Marge Weeks Kyle, 74, of Captain Cook, Hawaii, died March 25, 2021 in Holualoa. Born on April 19, 1946 in Haina.

Private services. Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of Kona at 75-5925 Walua Rd., #101, Kailua-Kona, HI. 96740.

She is survived by her son, Austin (Cara) Kyle; daughters, April (Lawrence) Daos and Autumn Kyle; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Chad Baybayan

Chad Kalepa Baybayan, 65, of Kailua-Kona, died April 8, 2021, in Seattle. Born Aug. 15, 1956, on Oahu, he was a teacher, student, a deep sea voyager who held the distinction of Pwo Navigator, canoe paddler and crew member of Hokulea, ramp agent for United Airlines in Kona, Navigator in Resident at ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center at the University of Hawaii at Hilo

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 6 at Dodo Mortuary in Hilo for viewing. Following the viewing, private services will be held. The services will be broadcast online and can be accessed via www.hokulea.com. Ashes to be scattered in Lahaina, Maui, at a later date.

He is survived by wife, Audrey Baybayan; daughters Pa‘anakala (Daniel) Tanaka, and Pukanala (Bradley) Llanes; son, ‘Aukai (Justynne) Kalepa; brothers, Clayton, Lyle, and Theodore Suter; sister, Ann Marie; and six grandchildren.
