Four new COVID-19 cases were reported Friday on the Big Island bringing the total number of cases 2,725.

Statewide, 115 new cases were reported on Friday by the Department of Health. Oahu reported 82 of those cases, Maui County 15 and Kauai eight. Six residents were diagnosed while outside the state.

Since the end of last February, 33,036 people have tested positive for COVID-19 across Hawaii.

Over the past two weeks, the Big Island has reported 61 cases, or an average of 4.9 cases per day. Twenty-one of those cases were reported in Kailua-Kona and 14 in Hilo.

According to the Department of Health’s weekly COVID-19 Cluster Report issued on Thursday, no clusters were under investigation during the past 14 days in the Big Island.

On Friday, a total of 55 patients with the virus were in Hawaii hospitals with nine in intensive care units and six on ventilators.

No new coronavirus-related deaths were reported by the state on Friday. The death was on Oahu. Of the 485 coronavirus-related deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 376 were on Oahu, 52 were on Maui, 53 were on the Big Island and two on Kauai. Three deaths were among residents outside the state.
