A single new COVID-19 cases reported Friday on the Big Island brings the total case count to date to 2,751.
Statewide, 83 new cases were reported Friday by the Department of Health with 64 of those cases on Oahu, 13 in Maui County and two new cases in Kauai County. Three residents were diagnosed while outside the state.
Since the end of last February, 33,533 people have tested positive for COVID-19 across Hawaii.
Over the past two weeks, the Big Island has reported 59 cases, or an average of 3.7 cases per day. Of those cases, 17 were reported in Kailua-Kona. Other districts around the island reported 10 or less cases in the two-week period.
The Big Island Friday had a 0.7% positivity rate, half the statewide rate of 1.4%
Also Friday, a total of 53 patients with the virus were in Hawaii hospitals with one reported on the Big Island.
One new coronavirus-related death was reported on Friday among a person in Maui County. Of the 490 coronavirus-related deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 378 were on Oahu, 54 were on Maui, 53 were on the Big Island and two on Kauai. Three deaths were among residents outside the state.
