Seven new COVID-19 cases reported Monday on the Big Island bringing the total case count to date to 2,764.
Statewide, 83 new cases were reported Monday by the Department of Health with 62 of those cases on Oahu, eight in Maui County and no new cases in Kauai County. Six residents were diagnosed while outside the state.
Since the end of last February, 33,834 people have tested positive for COVID-19 across Hawaii.
Over the past two weeks, the Big Island has reported 57 cases, or an average of 3.6 cases per day. Of those cases, 15 were reported in Kailua-Kona. Other districts around the island reported 10 or less cases in the two-week period.
The Big Island Monday had a 0.7% positivity rate, under the statewide rate of 1.6%
Also Monday, a total of 44 patients with the virus were in Hawaii hospitals with two reported on the Big Island.
One new coronavirus-related death was reported on Monday. Of the 492 coronavirus-related deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 380 were on Oahu, 54 were on Maui, 53 were on the Big Island and two on Kauai. Three deaths were among residents outside the state.
