The Big Island reported three new COVID-19 cases Friday, increasing the total case count to 2,839.
Statewide, 61 new cases were reported by the Department of Health with 39 of those cases on Oahu, two in Maui County and three new cases in Kauai County. Fourteen residents were diagnosed while outside the state.
Since the end of last February, 35,726 people have tested positive for COVID-19 across Hawaii.
Over the past two weeks, the Big Island has reported 56 cases, or an average of 3.7 cases per day. The Big Island Friday had a 1% positivity rate, under the statewide rate of 1.5%
Also Friday, a total of 37 patients with the virus were in Hawaii hospitals with one reported on the Big Island.
Two new coronavirus-related deaths were reported on Friday on Oahu. Of the 494 coronavirus-related deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 382 were on Oahu, 54 were on Maui, 53 were on the Big Island and two on Kauai. Three deaths were among residents outside the state.
