Laurel Homer

Laurel June Homer, 45, of Holualoa, died June 12, 2021, in Kealakekua. Born Nov. 20, 1975, in Tuba City, Arizona, she worked in maintenance at the resorts.

Private services will be held.

She is survived by mother, Delores McClanahan of Phoenix; brother, Lelon Homer of Phoenix; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Lancelot Ako Jr.

Lancelot “Lance” “Pastor Lance” “Da Dog” Ako Jr., 66, of Ocean View, died May 2, 2021, at his residence. Born Nov. 9, 1954, in Kealakekua, he was the pastor for Hope DIA-mend Ministries, a terminal agent for the former Aloha Airlines, dog catcher, therapeutic fostering parent, security office and cross walk guard at the Ka‘u and Naalehu schools, and a U.S. Navy veteran.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. June 26 at Hope DIA-mend Ministries at 92-8988 Ginger Blossom Lane in Ocean View.

He is survived by wife, Pamela Ako of Ocean View; daughter, Tiffany (Jeremy) Javier of Maui; sons, Lancelot (Hannah) Ako III of Kailua-Kona, and Chadwick Keoni (Uriel Avila Zuniga) Ako of San Diego; brother, John Keone Ako of Seattle; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
