A brown water advisory has been posted for waters off Kailua Village following heavy rainfall over the weekend.
The advisory, prompted by stormwater runoff entering coastal waters, stretches from Kailua Bay to Kahului Bay, according to the Department of Health Clean Water Branch.
The public is advised to stay out of flood waters and storm water runoff due to possible overflowing cesspools, sewer, manholes, pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, chemicals, and associated flood debris.
