Robert Traeger

Robert Hoit Traeger, 94, of Kailua-Kona, died June 2, 2021, at Kona Community Hospital. Born July 11, 1926, in Auburn, Washington, he was a vice president and manager of an electrical audio products manufacturing company, a member of the Keauhou Yacht Club and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by wife, Blosom Traeger of Kailua-Kona; sons, Paul (Trina) Traeger of Seattle, and John (Annette) Traeger of Issaquah, Washington; daughter, Lisa (Erik) Ericson of Denver; sister, Phyllis Rose of the mainland; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ichiro Nakamura

Ichiro Nakamura, 91, of Hilo, died June 13, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired backhoe operator and security guard at Jas. W. Glover and a former pig farmer.

Private services held. Family requests no flowers and no koden (monetary gifts).

He is survived by sons, Bobby Nakamura of Kona, and Bruce (Leslie) Nakamura of Hilo; sisters, Lorna (Willy) Misech, Debra (Kevan) Tomono and Yvonne Santos, all of Hilo, and Marsha (Walter) Nagai of Keaau; sisters, Sayeko (Tatsu) Furuken and Sanae Moikeha, all of Oahu; brother, Robert (Theta) Nakamura of Oahu; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ryan Santos

Ryan Yukiharu Santos, 34, of Hilo died June 13, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a drilling machine operator for Delima Drilling.

Private services held. Family requests no flowers and no koden (monetary gifts).

He is survived by mother, Yvonne Santos of Hilo; father, Lance Santos of Volcano; sister, Kira Santos of Hilo; brother, Kurt Santos of Hilo; maternal grandfather, Ichiro Nakamura of Hilo; a niece; a nephew; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Danny Puou

Danny Kaonohi Puou, 77, of Honaunau, died June 17, 2021, at his residence. Born Feb. 24, 1944, in South Kona, he was a carpenter for the Department of Accounting and General Services.

Services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by wife, Vanessa Puou of Honaunau; sons, Joseph (Tracy) Puou and Shannon Puou, all of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Kahaleohu (Samson Villanueva) Colburn and Naaiakalani Colburn, all of Kailua-Kona, and Olanialii (Antoni Pua) Colburn of Ocean View; brothers, Lawrence (Helen) Puou of Holualoa, and Joseph (Joyce) Puou of Nanakuli, Oahu; sisters, Julia Waters of Kalaoa, and Constance Freeman of New Mexico; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
