State health officials reported a dozen new COVID-19 cases on the Big Island Sunday, bringing Hawaii County’s total case tally to 3,353.
Statewide, 102 new cases were reported by the Department of Health with 58 of those cases on Oahu, 13 in Maui County and eight on Kauai. Eleven cases were among residents diagnosed out of state.
Since the end of last February, 38,481 people have tested positive for COVID-19 across Hawaii.
The Big Island had a 3.2% seven-day positivity rate, over the state’s 2.2% positivity rate on Sunday. Over the last 14 days, 101 cases have been reported on the Big Island. Over the past week, the island has reported an average of 9.3 cases per day.
No new coronavirus-related deaths were reported on Sunday. Of the 521 deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 404 were on Oahu, 57 were on Maui, 55 were on the Big Island and two on Kauai. Three deaths were among residents outside the state.
