Big Island police reported Friday that a coroner’s inquest into the April death of man at Kailua Pier has been completed.

Stephen Lacey, 73, of Kailua-Kona, died at Kona Community Hospital after being transported by medics from the pier after life-saving personnel were summoned to the scene at 1:16 p.m. April 30 to a report of a man in need of medical attention, according to Hawaii Police Department.

“Upon conclusion of an autopsy and receipt of toxicology reports, it was determined that Lacey died from a medical condition and the manner of death was ruled as natural,” police said Friday.
