The Big Island’s COVID-19 case tally rose to 3,484 Monday with the announcement of 21 new cases.
Statewide, 132 new cases were reported by the Department of Health with 88 of those cases on Oahu, nine in Maui County and four on Kauai. Ten cases were among residents diagnosed out of state.
Since the end of last February, 39,386 people have tested positive for COVID-19 across Hawaii.
The Big Island had a 4.1% seven-day positivity rate, over the state’s 3.3% positivity rate on Monday. Over the last 14 days, 191 cases have been reported on the Big Island. Over the past week, the island has reported an average of 16.1 cases per day.
There were 44 individuals statewide hospitalized on Monday including seven on the Big Island
No new deaths related to the virus were reported on Monday. Of the 523 deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 405 were on Oahu, 57 were on Maui, 56 were on the Big Island and two on Kauai. Three deaths were among residents outside the state.
Community Testing is scheduled starting Tuesday at Kona Aquatics in Kailua-Kona from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesday at Afook Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
