James Moniz

James Clayton Moniz, 65 of Hilo, died July 7, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo.

He is survived by sons, James Moniz, Jeremy (Trista) Moniz, Jesse (Christin) Moniz, and Kelcey Bufil; daughter, Jillian Moniz; brother, Kenneth (Roberta) Moniz; sister, Jennifer (Craig) Long; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy Ah Sing

Dorothy Ah Sing, 94, of Hilo, died July 2, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 11, 1927, in Hilo, she was a former sales clerk for Koehnen’s Interiors, retired sales clerk for Liberty House and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

She is survived by sons, William (Patricia) Ah Sing of Hilo and Gary (Beverly) Ah Sing of Gardena, CA; daughter, Dawn Ah Sing of Hilo; sisters, Shirley Cecconi of Tennessee and Rose Marie Martines of Honolulu; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Patrick Figueira

Patrick James Gomes Figueira, 81, of Papaikou, died July 3, 2021, at his residence. Born in Pepeekeo, he was a manager with the former Kilauea Shell service station, former employee of HPM and Ace Hardware, a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Private services were held.

He is urvived by wife, Valerie Figueira of Papaikou; son, Patrick (Evelyn) Figueira of Papaikou; daughters, Patrice (David) Haas of Kahuku and Jennifer (Jeffrey) Branco of La Quinta, CA; brothers, Michael Figueira of San Lorenzo, CA, Thomas (Rosanna) Figueira of Papaikou and Norbert (Maureen) Figueira of Pennsylvania; sisters, Margaret Archibald of Burley, ID and Rosemary (Ed) Foust of Jerome, ID; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mae Aveiro

Mae Jean Pua‘ala Aveiro, 77, of Hilo and Honolulu, died July 2, 2021, at her residence. She was born on April 7, 1944 on Maui.

She is survived by husband, Clarence Aveiro Sr.; sons, Clarence (Deborah) Aveiro Jr., Troy (Vanessa) Aveiro, and Dean (Jenifer) Aveiro; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Lawrence Bramel

Lawrence Clayton Bramel, 45, of Kailua-Kona, died July 16, 2021 at his residence. Born March 3, 1976, Anchorage, AK, he was an electrician for Sunrun Inc.

He is survived by companion, Monica Price of Kailua-Kona; and son, Donavon Bramel of Holualoa.

Priscila Ramos

Priscila Patricia Ramos, 96, of Kapaau, died July 8, 2021, at her residence. Born July 8, 1925, in Waimea, Kauai, she was a retired stock room clerk for J.C. Penny Store in Honolulu.

She is survived by daughters, Dawn Bennett and Doreen (Keith) Wallis, all of Kapaau, and Dana (James) Winston of Honolulu; brother, Francis Mission of Makaweli, Kauai; sister, Dorothy (Arthur) Keale of Waimea, Kauai; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mutsumi Komo

Mutsumi Komo, 93, of Keopu, died July 10, 2021, at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born June 28, 1928, in Kealakekua, she was the treasurer for K. Komo Store and member of the Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Women’s Association, Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and Keopu Citizens Club.

Private services will be held at a later date. No flowers or koden.

She is survived by husband, Kenneth Komo of Keopu; sons, Patrick (Lori) Komo of Keopu and Russell (Deloa) Komo of Kalaoa; daughter, Karen (David) Kurihara of Honolulu; brother, Allen Deguchi of Campbell, CA; sister, Fujie Inouye of Honolulu; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
