Martha De Mello

Martha Rose Kekaikuihala De Mello, 80, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 2, 2021, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Feb. 22, 1941, in Honolulu, she retired as a secretary for the federal government and was a devoted member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Oahu and St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

Private services. Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Correspondence may be mailed c/o Shane DeMello, 82-783 Kamakani St., Captain Cook, HI 96704.

She is survived by her son, Shane (Jane) De Mello of Captain Cook, and Montgomery (Heidy) De Mello of Kuliouou, Oahu; daughter, Renee (Neill Jr.) Schoening of Ewa Beach, Oahu; brother, Robert (Lani) Reeves of Kaaawa, Oahu; sister, Rose Henry of the Philippines; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Benjamin Torres

Benjamin “Benny” Torres, 82, of Hilo, died July 29, 2021 at Life Care Center of Hilo. He was born June 27, 1939 in Hilo.

Private services held.

He is survived by brother, George (Rose) Torres of Mountain View; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Pamela Garcia

Pamela Leolani Garcia, 75, of Keaau, died Aug. 3, 2021. Born on Kauai, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by son, Alfred (Hattie) Seals III of Puna; daughter, Laurie Ann Seals of Reno, Nevada; brothers, Lloyd Braun and Roger Braun, both of Kauai; sister, Kathy Ishii of Kauai; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
