Kahilu Theatre presents Paula Fuga performing LIVE from the Waimea theater on Sept. 19.

Acclaimed for originality in her song composition and for her spellbinding, soulful vocals, Fuga is one of Hawaii’s top female musicians. A poet at heart, she is also an accomplished ukulele player who studied under master instructor, Roy Sakuma.

Fuga has woven her passions into award-winning songwriting. Her debut album, “Lilikoi,” garnered the prestigious Na Hoku Hanohano Award for “Most Promising Artist.” Since the release of her EP, “Misery’s End,” which featured guest appearances by Ziggy Marley and Jack Johnson, Fuga has become a headliner on the global music circuit. She has performed on the stages of Madison Square Garden, the Sydney Opera House’s Forecourt, and is a three-time guest artist at The White House.

Today, with a global fanbase and a thriving music career, Fuga’s music is dedicated to inspiring positive social change, rooted in perseverance and hope. She is fiercely committed to bringing the evocative voice of the Hawaiian people to global audience. Fuga recently released her second full-length album, “Rain On Sunday” through Brushfire Records.

“I’m really excited to perform music from my new album for Kahilu Theater. I love being in Waimea, I have some roots there on the Spencer side of my family. There’s always such a warm welcome from the community and I look forward to that aloha whenever I roll through,” she said.

“Paula Fuga” will livestream a 7 p.m. Sept. 19 exclusively on Kahilu.TV. On-Demand individual tickets for this show, which are good for an entire household, are $19.99 and available at Kahilu.TV.
