Police seek ID of woman in theft investigation

Hawaii Island police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying woman sought for questioning in a theft investigation in the Kailua-Kona area.

On Aug. 22, Kona patrol officers contacted a victim who reported leaving her purse unattended sometime between 1:30 and 2 p.m. at a retail store on Henry Street, according to the Hawaii Police Department. After checking with store security, a woman was observed to be in possession of the victim’s purse while leaving the retail store. She then went to another retail store on Makala Boulevard and used the victim’s credit cards to make unauthorized transactions.

The suspect is described as being “local” with a dark complexion and dark hair. She last seen wearing a black tank top with pink floral print, blue jeans, and brown slippers. The suspect was also wearing brown sunglasses, a blue face mask, silver hoop earrings, silver necklace, a silver and white bracelet on her left wrist, and carrying a dark colored white floral print tote bag.

This suspect is also wanted for questioning in other unrelated incidents in the Kailua-Kona area.
