Hawaii Island police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying seven individuals for questioning in several agricultural thefts occurring in the Pepe‘ekeo and Hamakua areas.

The thefts took place along the Hamakua Coast between June and September.

“Agricultural theft is a serious crime, and the department is committed in pursuing those who commit these crimes,” said Lt. William Derr of the South Hilo Community Policing Section.

Police ask that anyone with information on the identity of these individuals or information regarding agricultural thefts in the Pepe‘ekeo and Hamakua areas to call Officer Darren Abalos of the Hilo Community Policing Section at (808) 961-8849 or via email at darren.abalos@hawaiicounty.gov.
