Lisa Ueno

Lisa Ann Mehealani Ueno, 54, of Hilo, died Aug. 27, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she worked for the former Oceanic Time Warner Cable.

She is survived by children, Tiana Hirota and Brayden Ueno; parents, Malani Holt and Edward Uratani; siblings, Eddie Uratani and Christy Holt-Mizuguchi; a grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Asako Miyamoto

Asako Miyamoto, 92, of Hilo, died Aug. 28, 2021, at a care home in Hilo. Born in Paauilo, she was a member of Panaewa Kumiai.

Private services held.

She is survived by children, Florence Simms of Milwaukee, WI, Michael Miyamoto of Las Vegas, and Lillian (Hal) Kamigaki of Hilo; brother, Larry Araki of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Alberto Helliangao Sr.

Alberto “Teg” Helliangao Sr., 90, of Hilo, died Aug. 13, 2021, at his residence. Born in Pahala, he was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a member of the Hawaii Laborers Union.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Sept. 17 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10:30 a.m. service. An urn committal with military honors will follow at noon at the East Hawaii Veteran Cemetery #2 pavilion.

He is survived by wife, Itoe Helliangao of Hilo; son, Alberto Helliangao Jr. of Hawaii; sisters, Patsy Asejo of Honolulu and Beatrice Ganzagan of Waipahu, Oahu; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Diane Borero

Diane Borero, 66, of Mountain View, died Aug. 28, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born June 25, 1955, in Honolulu, she was a housekeeper for the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel.

Services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by daughters, Rachel (Peter) Vasen of Texas and LeeAnn Borero of Mountain View; son, Alexander Borero III of Honolulu; mother, Thelma Rivera of Mountain View; brothers, Nelson (Annette) Rivera of Mountain View and Herbie (Cara) Rivera of Pahoa; sister, Leimomi (Arthur) Gragas of Mountain View; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
