Annette Aquino

Annette Kunewa Aquino, 71, of Captain Cook, died Sept. 10, 2021, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Oct. 14, 1949, in Kealakekua, she was a housewife, housekeeper at Kona by The Sea, Kanaloa Condominiums, and the Kona Hukilau Hotel, cocktail waitress at the King Kamehameha Hotel, an attendant at the Kona Laundry and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by son, Alexander (Amy) Aquino Jr. of Napoopoo; daughter, Lonnetta (Tammie) Aquino Fukushima of Captain Cook; sister, Marella (Kendall) Hakkei of Honalo; stepdaughter, Suzette (Don) Graycochea of Kahuku, Oahu; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margaret Yamamoto

Margaret Mikiyo Yamamoto, 92, of Hilo, died Sept. 17, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired office clerk with the former Hawaii Grocers, and a member of the Hilo Meishion Mission and Fujinkai and the Waiakea Pirates.

Friends may call at 3 p.m. Sept. 29 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 4 p.m. service. Committal services at noon Sept. 30 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2 Pavilion. Casual attire.

She is survived by sons, Jerel Yamamoto of Hilo and Bert Yamamoto of Honolulu; brothers, Richard (Janice) Kawano and James Kawano of Hilo; sisters, Violet Tokushima of Honolulu and Ellen Kawano of Hilo; and cousins, nieces and nephews.

Chas Huston

Chas William Kekoa Huston, 24, of Hilo, died Sept. 2, 2021 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 20, 1997, in Hilo, he was a recent graduate from the University of Hawaii in Hilo and he worked as a server at Mio’s Restaurant.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Oct. 4 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10 a.m. service. Urn butial at Homelani Memorial Park (Lehua Section)

He is survived by father, Darrell Huston of Hilo; mother, Marilou Sensano of Hilo; sister, Sarah Huston of Hilo; brother, Kawika Huston of Tacoma, Washington; and paternal grandmother, Gwen Huston of Hawaiian Paradise Park.

John Medeiros Jr.

John Borges Medeiros Jr., 89, of Hilo, died Aug. 6, 2021, at Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired lineman and troubleshooter with Hawaii Electric Company (HELCO), a U.S. Army veteran and member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church for a 9:30 a.m. Mass. Urn committal at a later date. Casual attire; no flowers.

He is survived by son, Vernon (Rhonda) Medeiros of Kurtistown; daughter, Johnalyn Hanohano of Keaau; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
