Police seek ID of theft suspect

Big Island police are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying a man sought for questioning in connection with the theft of a surveillance camera Ka‘u.

Shortly before 7 a.m. Sept. 20, police were called to the 92-8700 block of Highway 11 in Ocean View for a report of a man removing a surveillance camera from the exterior of a business establishment, according to the Hawaii Police Department. The camera caught an image of the man, who left the scene before police arrived.

Anyone who recognizes the man, or who may have information about this incident, should call Officer Rodney Kekaualua Jr., of the Ka‘u Patrol Division, at (808) 939-2520 or the department’s nonemergency number at (808) 935-3311.
