Hawaii Island reported 15 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, pushing the total case count to 10,264.
Statewide, 91 new cases were reported Tuesday, bringing the state’s total to 80,414 since late February 2020, according to the Department of Health.
According to the DOH, 4,035 new cases have been reported in Hawaii in the past 14 days, including 710 on the Big Island. There has been an average of 239.3 new cases the past seven days statewide with the Big Island averaging 48.1 cases per day.
Hawaii County Tuesday had a seven-day test positivity rate of 5.3%, still above the state’s 3.4% positivity rate.
On Tuesday, 20 people with COVID-19 remained hospitalized on the Big Island. Seven of the island’s 24 ICU beds were available with three of the beds occupied by COVID-positive patients. Two of the the COVID-positive patients were on a ventilator.
No new coronavirus-related deaths were reported by the state on Tuesday. Of the 811 deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 615 were on Oahu, 89 were on Maui, 94 were on the Big Island and eight on Kauai. Five deaths were among residents outside the state.
According to the latest Hawaii COVID-19 vaccine summary, 2,043,156 vaccine doses — including booster doses — have been administered through state and federal distribution programs as of Tuesday, up 11,831 from a day earlier.
To date, 68.7% of the state’s population is now fully vaccinated and 77.1% have received at least one dose. Another 17,475 booster doses have been administered.
The Big Island reported Tuesday 65% of its residents were fully vaccinated; 76% of the population has received at least one dose.
The state estimates 118,658 eligible individuals have yet to receive a shot.
