The Society for Kona’s Education and Art (SKEA) is hosting a pottery workshop with instructor John Beck that begins next week.

The first two sessions will be noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 16 and 17 during which students will learn hand building techniques for creating a set of mugs. A glazing session will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 30. A short wrap-up session will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Nov. 16.

Tuition is $115 ($105 for SKEA members) and includes all supplies and firings.

SKEA is located in Honaunau, between mile markers 105 and 106 in Honaunau. It is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing cultural and educational activities to the South Kona community and public schools.
