Shannon Saniatan

Shannon John Saniatan, 46 of Hilo, died Oct. 17, 2021, in Hilo. Born May 1, 1975 in Hilo, he was a former referee for the Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation, and was employed at Kipapa Traffic Management.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. Oct. 29 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. service. Family is requesting no flowers.

He is survived by mother and step-father, Debra-Lyn and Lawrence Suenishi of Hilo; step-mother, Audrey Pulgados Pacheco of Hilo; grandfather, Filemon Montibon of Hilo; life partner, Denise Lehano of Hilo; sisters, Cheryl (Kawika Cameron) Vesperas, Shannell (Elmer) Gorospe, Tahnee Batulanon and Styann (Joshua Torres) Pacheco of Hilo; step-sisters, Dareza (Gavin) Bras of Maui and Michelle (Layne) Oki of Hilo; step-brothers; Dawson Requelman and Koa Suenishi of Hilo; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Edward Aiona

Edward Lincoln “Eddie” “Pancho” Aiona, 69, of Mountain View, died Sept. 22, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was retired from Jas. W. Glover, Ltd.

Friends may call at 3 p.m. Oct. 30 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 5 p.m. service. Casual attire; no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Anna Aiona of Mountain View; son, Andre (Janette) Aiona of Pahoa; daughter, Rebecca Aiona of Mountain View; sisters, Idalyn Isom of Louisville, Kentucky, and Ella (Orlando) Manuel of Keaau; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
