Louie Gangango

Louie “Dalla” Gangano, 69, of Kea’au, died Nov. 5, 2021. Born Feb. 13, 1952, in Hilo, he was a retired systems operator for HELCO and member of Hilo High School Class of 1970, Who Cares Softball Team and 34th Street Golfers.

He is survived by wife, Paulette Gangano of Pahoa; children, Daniel (Darlene) Gangano of Mountain View, Jonathan Gangano of Hilo, David (Anastasia) Gangano of Mountain View, Elias (Mary Ann) Gangano of Captain Cook, Talia Gangano of Orange County, Calif., and Michael (Ashley) Totman of Pahoa; siblings, Cecilia Almazan of Hawaiian Paradise Park, Carmen Riola of Honolulu, and Delfin Gangano of Kea’au; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Henry Mendez

Henry “Hank” Joseph Mendez, 56, of Kailua-Kona, died Nov. 5, 2021, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Feb. 20, 1965, in Fullerton, California, he was a former maintenance worker for the Fairmont Orchid and a former volleyball coach for the Kohala Boys 14 and Under.

Private service to be held at a later date.

He is survived by parents, Henry and Jeanne Mendez; sister, Jackie Mendez; brother, Rich Mendez all of California; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
