Rodney Torres

Rodney Edward Torres, 81, of Ocean View, died Nov. 25, 2021 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born Sept. 28, 1940, in Honolulu, he was a dairy farmer, worked for the city and County of Honolulu Department of Transportation, and a cattleman for Parker Ranch and Kapapala Ranch.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to Rhodalynn Naihe at PO Box 1035, Kealakekua, HI 96750.

He is survived by sons, Rodney Torres Jr. of Honolulu, Anthony (Elena Beaudet) Torres, Patrick (Noe Pabre) Torres, Ronny (Codi) Torres, Steven (Mele) Torres, all of Ocean View and Jesse Torres of Hilo; daughters, Belinda Torres and Patricia Torres, both of Honolulu, and Rhodalynn (Marvin) Naihe of Kealakekua; sisters, Verna Frantz of Texas and Sylvia Bonilla of Honolulu; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

John Griffey

John “Cakes” Griffey, 76, of South Kona, died Nov. 23 at Kona Community Hospital. Born May 15, 1945 in Grand Pass, Oregon, he was a retired Realtor and former owner of Tropical Tones Painting.

Private service to be held.

He is survived by daughter, Jamaica (Edward) Canas; sons, Giovanni (Alena) Griffey, Austin (Kamalani Lindsey) Griffey all of South Kona; eight grandchildren; and numerous hanai family, nieces and nephews.

Lloyd Lee Sr.

Lloyd P.C.W. Lee Sr., 74, of Hilo, died Dec. 4, 2021, at his residence. Born in Hilo, he was a retired civil engineer with the City and County of Maui and later worked as an engineer for AECOM Co.

Friends may call at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 21 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 4:30 p.m. service. Casual attire; no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Suzanne Lee of Hilo; sons, Lloyd (Kanani) Lee Jr. of Honolulu and Kevin (Kylen) Lee Sr. of Hilo; daughters, Tanya (Kawika Borja) Lee and Michelle Lee, all of Honolulu, Brandy Lee of Maui and Cassie Lee of Las Vegas; step-children, Christine, Michelle, Yujean and Mimi; brothers, Robert (Sandra) Lee and Dennis (Thelma) Lee Sr. of Hilo; sisters, Margaret Abreu of Kona and Sharon Ann Raniada of Hilo; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
