Joseph Korona III

Joseph Edward Korona III, 69, of Naalehu died Jan. 25, 2022, at his residence. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was a radio broadcaster, member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Naalehu, Secular Franciscan Order and a volunteer for various senior services.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Feb. 25 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Naalehu for rosary; Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Peggy Korona of Naalehu; sisters, Donna (Rich) Costa of Cape May, New Jersey, and Vicki Browning of Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlotte-Mae Lyons

Charlotte-Mae Faith Kinokalani Lyons, 78, of Hilo, died Dec. 2, 2021 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired cocktail waitress with the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, waitress and cook for the Makalei Golf Course, and she was also a waitress for the Banyan and Bar Restaurant and a member of Alu Like (Keola Pono No Na Kupuna).

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Feb. 26 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10 a.m. service. Casual attire; no flowers.

She is survived by daughters, Rayette-Dee (Robert) Abraham of Hilo, Yuki (Jaz) Lyons-Yglesias and Lily Kahelelani Lyons Alohikea-Smith (Kalim) of Kona; brother, Hardy Kaleimomi Unea of North Carolina; sister, Mekela “Miki” Asejo of Hilo; 11 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Vivian Kubo

Vivian Vera Kubo, 92, of Hilo, died Dec. 21, 2021 at home. She was born in Kukaiau and was a sales clerk with the former S.H. Kress Store and Stan Randolph Enterprises “The Kiosk” in Hilo.

Private services held.

Survived by daughters, Pamela (Bruce) Mattys of Oregon and Natalie M. Kubo of Honolulu; son, Erwine S. (Diane) Kubo of Hilo; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren; several nieces &nephews.

Margarita Dela Cruz

Margarita “Rita” Acosta Dela Cruz, 95, of Waimea, died Jan. 16, 2022, at her residence. Born July 13, 1926, in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a retired farm hand for Hirayama Farm, worked for Hirako Farm, Okada Farm and Kawamata Farm, and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Feb. 26 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Honokaa; eulogy at 9:40 a.m.; Mass at 10 a.m.; burial to follow at Honokaa Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire.

She is survived by sons, Alfredo Dela Cruz of Papaaloa and Jeff Dela Cruz of Waimea; daughters, Clarisa (Vance) Honda and Chita (Ryan) Arai, all of Waimea, Delia (Wilfred) Gaspar of Paauilo, and Lucia (Alberto) Gullaba of Washington; sister, Carlina Dela Cruz of the Philippines; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Terry Delatorre

Terry C. Delatorre, 68, of Honokaa, died Feb. 12, 2022 at Pohai Malama Care Center. Born Nov. 20, 1953, in Kealakekua, he was a mechanic, farmer, and fisherman, and worked at the Rocking Chair Ranch, Waimea Country Club, and Kona Country Club.

He is survived by significant other, Shirley Andaya; mother of his children, Jerilynn Delatorre; daughters, Tammy (Jan) Delatorre and Amy (Josh) Delatorre; son, Jason Delatorre; brothers, Alan (Marina) Delatorre and Glenn (Audrey) Delatorre; sisters, Laverne Acosta, Valerie (Nathan) Abo, Sandy (David) Rapozo, and Bernie Talley; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert Crivello Sr.

Robert Wayne Crivello Sr., 75, of Hilo, died Jan. 24, 2022. Born Dec. 25, 1946, he worked at the Maebo Noodle Factory.

Friends may call from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at Frank Santos Park Pavilion in Papaikou for a celebration of life.

He is survived by son, Robert Crivello Jr.; brother, Ronald (Loretta) Crivello; sister, Agnes (Bill) Seay of Virginia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Anita Perry

Anita “Tweedy” Castillo Perry, 83, of Honokaa, died Jan. 28, 2022, at Hale Ho’ola Hamakua. She was born in Hilo and was a retired secretary with the state Department of Health and was also a member of the Honokaa Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 3 p.m. Feb. 27 at Honokaa Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; eulogy at 4:45 p.m.; Mass at 5 p.m. Friends may also call at 10 a.m. Feb. 28 at Dodo Mortuary chapel; service at 11 a.m. Committal service will follow at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Pavilion. She is survived by husband, John Perry, Jr. of Honokaa; daughter, Stacy (Milton Ching) Perry-Vega of Honokaa; sister-in-law, Frances (Leonard) Ayala of Modesto, Calif.; uncle, James Ayala of Hilo; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
