Patricia Lasky

Patricia Katherine Lasky, 77, of Keaau, died Feb. 6, 2022. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by daughter, Serena (Barron Jr.) Smith; sons, Joseph Rodrigues and Jason Rodrigues; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Patricia Deter

Patricia “Pat” Louise Deter, 92, of Ookala died Feb. 16, 2022, at her residence. Born in San Diego, she was the owner and bookkeeper for the former Cunnigham Press in Pasadena, California, and member of the St. Columba’s Episcopal Church and Order of the Eastern Star in Hilo.

Friends may call at 1 p.m. Feb. 26 at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church in Paauilo for Mass with a lei ceremony; reception to follow at the Laupahoehoe Beach Park. Aloha attire.

She is survived by daughters, Vickie (Paul) Pruitt of Laupahoehoe, and Debra (Mark Mulholland) Deter of Pahoa; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Gary Gaughen

Gary Michael (Sam) Gaughen, 77, of Kailua-Kona, died Feb. 14, 2022, at his residence. Born Aug. 13, 1944, in San Diego, he was a retired Renaissance man.

He is survived by son, Joshua (Cindy) Gaughen of Bowling Green, Virginia; brothers, William Gaughen of Costa Rica, Timothy (Kathy) Gaughen of Fort Bragg, California, and Brian (Vickie) Gaughen of Youngstown, Ohio; sister, Kathleen Yoder, of Burr Oak, Michigan; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
