Big Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in an armed robbery Monday night at a Hilo pharmacy.

At about 9:45 p.m., South Hilo Patrol officers responded to the Longs/CVS store Puainako Street business after callers reported a masked suspect brandishing a firearm had entered the store. The suspect demanded prescription medication and then left the scene in an SUV-type vehicle, possibly a silver-colored Nissan, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

The suspect is described as being between 5 feet, 6 inches, to 6 feet tall, “stocky,” wearing long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and a tactical-type vest. His head and face were concealed.
