Multiple Hawaii Fire Department comapnies responded to a fire Friday morning at Big Island Scrap Metal on Honokohau Street in Kailua-Kona.
Fire personnel on the scene said witnesses heard a large explosion followed by a fire breaking out on the bottom of a scrap metal heap at the site.
No injuries were reported.
