Jack’s Diving Locker hosts the 2022 Ocean Fair from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 30 at its store and dive facility at Coconut Grove Marketplace in Kailua-Kona.
The Ocean Fair will feature speakers on a variety of topics from local conservation education to underwater photography. In addition, attendees can take part in free pool Scuba and snorkel lessons for those age and 8 older (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), keiki crafts, family activities and more.
The fair was started 18 years ago, when the community did not have a lot of options for education about the ocean and understanding local sea life, combined with fun for kids, games and family events.
“Jack’s Diving Locker wanted to have a place for Ocean education that combined all these topics that brought the community together for education, fun and to help support the local marine environment,” said Teri Leicher, managing partner at Jack’s Diving Locker.
