Kahiki Hodson Sr.

Kahiki Mark Henry Hodson Sr., 59, of Keaau died March 14, 2020 at Hilo Medical Center. Born September 14, 1960 in Okinawa, Japan, he was a retired Hawaii County police officer, and kahu/pastor and member of Christian Fellowship Church and Hilo Bandstand Ministry.

He is survived by spouse, Kim Dawson Hodson of Keaau; step-mom, Maria Hodson of Kailua-Kona; sons, Kahiki Hodson Jr., Logan Meyer, Darius Adams all of Keaau, and James Griffin of Honolulu; daughters, Tessie Rabiano Hodson of Las Vegas, Jessica Makanani Griffen of Honolulu, Lorena Shire of Michigan, Kimberly Kaleilehua Meyer and Makaela Puakea Adams of Keaau; brothers Randall Hodson and Darryl Hodson of Ewa Beach, Oahu, Michael Hodson of Waimea, William Hodson and David Hodson of Keaau; sister Keola Liva of Keaau; and four grandchildren.

Lena Kapeliela

Lena Haaheo Kapeliela, 81, of Kapaau, died May 26, 2022, at her residence. Born in Kohala, she was a retired hostess for Bamboo Restaurant in Kohala, Mauna Kea Beach Resort, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Honomakau Ward and Ka’ahumanu Society.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. July 2 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Honomakau Ward in Hawi; service at 11 a.m. Casual attire.

She is survived by children, Bernadette (Brett) Lajala, Kenneth Kapeliela, Darryl Kapeliela, Helaman (Genera) Kapeliela, and Hansen (Treena) Kapeliela, all of Kohala; hanai sister, Sarah (Allie) Pule Fujii of Kohala; 21 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Anthony Craven

Anthony Craven, 84, of Waimea, died June 12, 2022, at his residence. Born in Los Angeles, he was a retired attorney on Oahu and member of Christ Church Episcopal in Kealakekua.

Private services.

He is survived by wife, Wendy Greenwell Craven of Waimea; children, Anthony (Marylinda) Craven Jr. of Kona, and Scott (Daena) Craven and Heather (John) Polhemus, all of Waimea; and four grandchildren.

Margarita Rivera

Margarita “Rita” Castillo Rivera, 87, of Lakeland, Waimea, died May 24, 2022 at her residence. Born Oct. 23, 1934 in Reppaac, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a retired farm hand at Kawano Farms and a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Waimea.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. July 2 at Annunciation Catholic Church, Waimea; Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Waimea Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire.

She is survived by daughters, Myrna Rivera Baptista of Pepe’ekeo and Edith (Sheldon) Rivera-Sleightholm of Lakeland, Waimea; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
