Rhonda Endo

Rhonda Marion Keolaokalani Endo, 55, of Hilo, died June 15, 2022 at The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born April 26, 1967 in Hilo, she was a tour guide for Jack’s Tours, entrepreneur, and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Keaukaha Ward.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. July 1 at Hilo Stake Center for a 1 p.m. service; cremation to follow. Aloha attire.

She is survived by husband, Tadashi Endo of Hilo; daughters, Janice (Aleki Manupule) Kela-Napeahi of Ewa Beach, Oahu, and Sky Kuualoha Kela of Hilo; son, Jai Kaneokekai Kela of Hilo; brother, Samson Ikaika (Ilima Bright) Kela Jr. of Panaewa; sisters, Charlene Kuualoha (Sione) Manu of Panaewa, Mililani Kela of Hilo and Daisha Kaiulani Clark of Las Vegas; one granddaughter; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jane Uyeki

Jane Masako Uyeki, 89, of Hilo, died May 1, 2022, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a retired nursing supervisor with the Hilo Medical Center, and member of the Puna Hongwanji Mission, the HGEA and the Hospital Retirees.

Private services held. No flowers; no koden (monetary offerings).

She is survived by brother, Kenneth (Gayle) Higa of Hilo; sister, Betsy (Clyde) Barker of Orangeville, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ernesto Kuahuia

Ernesto “Bodie” Vanboyd Kuahuia, 56, of Hakalau, died May 24, 2022 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Dec. 21, 1965 in Ka’u, he was a warehouse laborer for Hamakua Macadamia Nut Co. and an opihi picker.

He is survived by spouse, Lisamae Paul; son, Tysonlee (Crystal Mamone) Kuahuia; daughter, Kyleeann Kuahuia; stepson, Darian Ching; father, Ernie Orevillo; sister, Kuuipo Taylor; brother, Keo Taylor; sister, Donnetta (Jonathan Alves) Taylor; brother-in-law, Kelly (Roz) Freitas; six grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mamoru Hanamoto

Mamoru Hanamoto, 98, of Hilo, died June 21, 2022, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Honokaa, he was retired from the United States Postal Service and a U.S. Army veteran.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. July 2 at Honokaa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Etsuko Hanamoto of Hilo; daughter, Gail (Ausaf) Rahman of Hilo; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.

Randall Lau

Randall Nani Lau, 73, of Keaau, died June 7, 2022 at Hilo Medical Center. Born June 29, 1948 in Hilo, he was a retired custodian for the state Department of Education and Kamehameha Schools Hawaii Campus, former worker at Ace Hardware in Keaau and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo and the Wanderers Boxing Club.

No services.

He is survived by wife, Adelaide Lau of Puna; sons, Randy (Laurie) Lau of Hilo and Sherwood (Karmel) Lau of Puna; sisters, Alice Shiroma, Blanche Onuma and Betty (Raymond) Benevides, all of Hilo; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Guy Miranda

Guy Christopher Miranda, 63, of Honokohau, died June 2, 2022 at his residence. Born Aug. 17, 1958, in Honolulu, he was a self-employed fence contractor and was an avid surfer and soccer coach.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. July 30 at St. Michaels Church on Alii Drive, Kona, for 10 a.m. Mass. Private burial.

He is survived by wife, Jerrae Miranda; son, Micah Miranda and daughter, Chloe Miranda, all of Honokohau; mother, Isabel Miranda of Kalihi, Oahu; brother, Wayne (Felicia) Miranda of Hilo; sister, Kathleen Kawakami of Waimea; and five grandchildren.
