\A night of alternative rock and punk rock from two Big Island bands is set for July 30 at Laverne’s Sports Bar in Kailua-Kona.

The 1201 draw influence from 90s alternative rock bands like Stone Temple Pilots and Foo Fighters. Their original music has been featured on Sirius XM and other radio stations. El Sancho is a fun, fast punk band who are influenced by the Ramones, Screeching Weasel and other classic punk bands. Earlier this year they performed on PBS Hawaii’s “Live at the Empty Palace” show and have been featured in Huffington Post, Maximum Rocknroll and other media outlets.

The show is free, and all ages are welcome before 9 p.m. El Sancho performs at 7 p.m. and The 1201 at 8:30 p.m.
