Suspects sought for questioning in attempted murder investigation

Hawaii Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 33-year-old Drosstain Pua of Kona and a second unidentified male suspect who are wanted for questioning in connection with an attempted murder investigation.

Pua, who also goes by the name “Hano,” is described as being 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 175 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. He is known to frequent the areas of South Kona and Ocean View.

The second suspect is described as a local male in his in his 40s with a thin build and light complexion, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, unknown weight, with brown eyes and brown hair.

The investigation stems from an incident that occurred shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday in Ocean View.

Ka‘u patrol officers responded to a residence on Bamboo Lane after a 37-year-old man reported being at his residence when two male suspects carrying firearms forcibly entered his residence, assaulted him, and fired a weapon in his direction. The male victim was treated on scene by Hawaii Fire Department paramedics for the injuries he suffered during the altercation. No one else was injured during this incident.
