Election time again. I get to show off my political wisdom.

We all know that Josh Green was born to be governor. He is a doctor, family man, and he got us through the COVID.

You remember COVID, it was like some plague in the air, we were all scared. And there was Green on TV every morning, unshaven like he’d been saving patients all night, telling us it would be all right, always on the bright side.

Now a grateful Hawaii will make him governor.

The two in second place, Kai Kahele and Vicky Cayetano are looking perfectly tacky teaming up on Green. They are losing, so in desperation they are throwing fake mud at future governor Green.

Their cheap shots will be remembered in elections to come. Aloha Kai and Vicky. It’s back to your day jobs.

BJ Penn is running for governor. He said he will fight for Hawaii so he’s setting up a wrestling ring in the state Capitol. He will literally fight for Hawaii.

Moving on to lieutenant governor.

First is Keith Amemiya, on his TV ad he jogs up a mountain, then stares out to sea like Moses, he really wants to win.

Next is Ikaika Anderson, winner of the best political brochure contest.

Then comes Silvia Luke, endorsed by everyone from dockworkers to Waikiki beach boys to stranded monk seals. None of which will actually vote.

There is a real nasty TV ad about Luke, all gray and grainy making her look like a sleazy gangster. Don’t believe it, she’s fine. The ad only shows that the other guy is losing and getting desperate, like Kahele and Cayetano.

What’s with all these negative ads, are we turning into the mainland? I hope not.

My favorite is Sherry Menor-Mcnamera because she looks so pretty on her political sign at the bottom of Kaiminani. A real cutie. They put up these posters for serious, intellectual voters like me.

Speaking of political signs, don’t you hate to see the big face of a candidate glaring at you at the intersections? Give us a break.

And it looks like Nicole Lowen and Tim Richards can just cruise. No one is running against them for state house. Why change a good thing?

O yea, if you’re a Republican, good luck. We’re a state full of Democrats. Keep trying, you’re bound to win something.

Then comes the council race for District 8 in the Palisades. There is Holeka Inaba, who’s been around awhile. A new one, Lee-Ann Heely, is running. You’ve seen her smiling face on the posters. She works at the West Hawaii Community Health Center helping people.

Give her a chance and vote for her.

Now be sure to cast vote and show the dictatorships around the world what a great and free country looks like. Lucky we live America.
