It’ll be another couple of weeks before the Kailua Village Design Commission takes up a design review application for a new Wendy’s in Kailua-Kona.

The commission’s semi-monthly meeting slated for Tuesday was canceled due to a lack of quorum, or the minimum number of members necessary to conduct business and vote on matters.

The commission’s next meeting date is tentatively set for Aug. 23 at the West Hawaii Civic Center in Kailua-Kona.

According to the design review application, California-based Cotti Foods Corporation is planning a Wendy’s restaurant with drive-thru within the Niumalu Marketplace. If built, it would be situated at the corner of Henry Street and the lower access road to the shopping center, across the road from the Aloha Gas station.
