Four Hawaii Island ladies will represent the Orchid Isle in the upcoming Miss Hawaii and Miss Hawaii Teen USA pageant on Oahu.

Laupahoehoe’s Ronnelle Valera was crowned Miss Hawaii Island USA while Keauhou’s Elaina Head was bestowed the title of Miss Hawaii Island Teen USA. Meanwhile, Hilo’s Mikayla Baptista was named Miss Orchid Isle USA and Lehani Coloma, also of Hilo, was crowned Miss Orchid Island Teen USA.

The 2022 Miss Hawaii Island USA pageant, held Saturday at the Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa, is a preliminary for the Miss Hawaii and Miss Hawaii Teen USA pageant that’ll be held in January, according to Executive Director Natasta Hirata. The “queens” crowned Saturday will compete in the Oahu event with the adult and teen winners at the state-level competition representing Hawaii at the Miss USA pageant in 2023.
