Charles Mahoe Jr.

Charles Kekuhinakipi Mahoe Jr., 82, of Pahoa and formerly of Mililani, Oahu, died June 12, 2022. He was a retired sergeant first class with the U.S. Army, worked at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, and was a member of the Wiki Wiki Senior Golf Club of Hilo and the Kamehameha Schools Class of 1958 Senior Golf Club.

Graveside services will take place on Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. at Mililani Memorial Park. Aloha attire.

He is survived by children, Dallas (Amy) Mahoe of Las Vega, and D’Ann (Jesse) Hawkins of Hope Mills, North Carolina; step-children Randolph Laybon Jr. of Mountain View, Randollyn Laybon of Pahoa, Frances (Darrell) Kami of Pearl City, Oahu, Lokelani (John) Hunter of San Antonio, Iwalani (Timothy) McBrayer of Kapolei, Oahu, Terry (Joseph) De Los Santos of Spring Branch, Texas, Herbert Laybon of Pahoa, and Darrah (Timothy) Arruda of Milwaukee, Oregon; brother, Norman Goo of Waimanalo, Oahu; sisters, Ernestine Akeo of Kailua, Oahu, and Levinia Woo of Torrance, California; 26 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lorraine Watts

Lorraine Leilani Watts, 92, of Pahoa, died July 13, 2022 at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Oahu, she was a member of the Pahoa High School Booster Club, a member and co-founder of the East Hawaii Foster Parents Association, and childcare provider.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Aug. 17 at Dodo Mortuary chapel; service at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 to 10 a.m. Aug. 18 at the mortuary; service at 10 a.m.; burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2. Casual attire.

She is survived by, husband, Marvin Watts; sons, Marvin Watts Jr., Patrick Watts, Joseph (Christina) Watts and Jeffrey (Debbie) Watts; hanai son, James Scott of Burton, Ohio; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Robert Wayman

Robert “Bob” Paul Wayman, of Puako and California, died July 22, 2022, in Los Altos, California. Born July 5, 1945 in Chicago, he was an Eagle Scout; worked as an accountant, CFO and interim CEO for Hewlett-Packard also serving on the company’s board of directors; board member to various companies and organizations, including the V Foundation; member of the Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management advisory board; and a founder of Cultural Initiatives Silicon Valley.

A celebration of life is planned Dec. 29 in Puako.

He is survived by wife, Kim; siblings, Don and Diane; children, Jennifer, Allison, Grant, Clay, and Kirsten; and more than 20 grandchildren.
